Terms & Conditions

  1. JEDS Driving School is an Agency that introduces pupils to Driving Instructors. Driving Instructors are self employed and all contracts for the provision of driving tuition are between the pupil and the instructor.

  2. As the lesson cost is the driving instructor’s income, we ask that you give your instructor 2 clear working days’ notice of cancellation of any lesson. Lessons cancelled with less notice will be charged for regardless of the reason. Although we recognise that some reasons for cancellation will be genuinely beyond your control, it is unfair that your instructor will lose income because of it.

  3. Your driving instructor will wait for you for no more than 10 minutes. If you are going to be later than this, please inform your instructor in advance otherwise the late cancellation fee will apply.

  4. Although your driving instructor will make every effort to arrive promptly at the lesson start time, the very nature of the work means that events arising from traffic, weather, and other situations which are outside their control may mean that occasionally lessons may need to be rearranged or cancelled at short notice.

  5. Your instructor has the right to withdraw the tuition vehicle on the day of your driving test, if, in their opinion, you have not reached the required standard. Your instructor also reserves the right to refuse a driving lesson if you suffer from any medical condition that could affect your ability to drive, or if you are taking any medicines specifically stating that you should not drive. If you are in any doubt as to the effect of any condition or medication please speak to your instructor. This refusal also applies to anyone under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs. If a driving lesson is refused no refund will be given.

  6. Your instructor is not responsible for cancellation of any lessons booked in the unlikely event that the DVSA have cancelled or postponed your test.

  7. A three hour booking is required on the day of your driving test, and a test fee is payable for the use of the car. This time is used to allow for the pre-test practice, the test itself, returning from the test centre afterwards.

  8. Advance payments/block bookings can be made by bank transfer. Please note that any advance payments/block bookings must be used within 3 months of purchase, as no refund is given beyond expiry date. If for any reason a refund is required on a block booking payment, the refund given will be on a pro rata basis reverting back to the normal hourly rate. Refunds will not be given on lessons taken. Any customer refunds that are issued will usually be made within 7 working days.

  9. All JEDS Driving School Instructors will present themselves in a professional manner and maintain a smart appearance.
